Associazione Barriera is a non-profit institution for contemporary art founded in Turin in 2007. Through a series of exhibitions and long-term projects, this art space creates opportunities for dialogue between artists, curators, and collectors and engenders contamination with other cultural environments and disciplinary perspectives such as music, fashion, and alternative forms of publishing.

The space promotes curatorial strategies that are characterized by an informal approach, directed not only toward the production of pre-established artistic products but also toward the creation of a safe and inclusive space where the exchange is not limited to the frame of institutional representation or critique but becomes part of daily life experience and practice. By cultivating various practices of unconventional communication as a form of radical hospitality, Barriera is trying to foster the creation of
micro-communities within the process of production and exhibition-making.

Barriera is curated by Sergey Kantsedal with the assistance of Yuliya Say.
